Overview
This internship aims to give students pursuing a degree in non-profit management, leadership programs, public administration, or business administration an opportunity to shadow the Executive Director, Marketing Manager, and Volunteer Manager at the Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium. Interns will assist with donor management, social media, guest relations, and the volunteer program. Interns will also assist with the managing the day to day operations of the center. This is an unpaid position.

Currently enrolled in a college or university program in non-profit management, leadership programs, public administration, or business administration.

Passion for wildlife and conservation.

Computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and Outlook.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Comfortable with public speaking..

Weekend hours may be required.

Responsibilities
(Including but not limited to)

Assist with our managing our donor database and reaching out to donors.

Create new fundraising opportunities.

Assist with training new volunteers and continuing education for current volunteers.

Greet and educate guests visiting the center.

Help with the facilitation of special events/fundraisers at the facilities as needed.

Collaborate on creation of content for social media accounts.

Complete projects as assigned by the Managementy staff.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of education materials.
