As daylight fades and dusk settles in, watch the sky for bats taking flight and listen for the calls of frogs and crickets hidden in the forest. On this twilight hike, you’ll learn how nocturnal mammals prepare for nightfall and use their remarkable senses to navigate the dark. Through a series of hands-on activities, we’ll explore how these animals see, hear, and move once the sun goes down. This walk begins at sunset and may not be suitable for very young children. Please dress for the weather, and leave flashlights and glow sticks behind so your eyes can adjust naturally to the fading light.
