About the event

How do lightning bugs create their magical glow? Can salamanders really shine under UV light? Discover the fascinating differences between bioluminescence and biofluorescence as we explore animals that glow in the dark—or light up under ultraviolet light. On a short hike and through a series of hands-on activity stations, you’ll uncover the science behind why and how certain animals glow. Be sure to dress for the weather, and please leave flashlights and glow sticks at home so the natural glow can truly shine.
