About the event
Forest bathing is a slow, quiet, nature-based wellness practice that has physical and mental health benefits that include reducing stress and anxiety, and improving cardiovascular and immune health. A certified guide from Go Forest Bathing will lead the group in a meditation session followed by sensory experiences that encourage relaxation and reconnection to nature and self.
Calusa Nature Center’s shaded, unpaved trails on the 105 acres feature pine flatwoods, part of a cypress dome, a canal berm, and other native plants. In addition to native wildlife, see and hear aviary residents that include eagles, vultures, a hawk and an owl. The nature center is closed to the public during the forest bathing program, providing a private experience. Enjoy the center’s indoor animal and natural history exhibits for 30 minutes prior to and after the forest bathing program. (Note: planetarium is not open on forest bathing day.)
