Weekly Events

Monday 11 am – Butterfly Talk
Join us in the Butterfly Garden at Calusa Nature Center for a fun, informative talk about butterflies! You will learn all about the butterfly life cycle, which species are native to Florida, and how we all can protect butterflies and their habitat. This talk is free with your paid admission.

Tuesday & Thursday 9 am – Tai Chi at CNCP
Join Keith and Lisa Banks to discover the four benefits of a tai chi practice: breathing, alignment of the body, strength training and increased flexibility. $8 for members, $10 for non-members

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 11 am & Monday, 2:45 pm – Alligator Talk
We love our alligators! Come visit with them up close and personal. (Okay, behind the gate!) Our animal care expert will share all about alligators: their habit, diet, why they are important to the ecosystem, and how to protect them. Admission to this talk is free with your entrance fee. Great experience for the whole family.

Wednesday, Friday & Sunday 2:45 pm – Eagle Talk
Come meet “Erica” Calusa Nature Center’s very own eagle! Our animal expert will share with you all sorts of interesting facts about eagles, like their habitat, dietary needs, and why they are a keystone species and important for the environment. Gaze into an eagle’s eye and connect with this amazing part of nature! This talk is free with your admission.

Friday, 9 am – Tai Chi at CNCP

Friday 11am – Solar Observing using the Coronado Solar Telescope Are there sunspots today? Prominences? A flare? Planetarium volunteers and/or staff will show you the Sun “live” as few people get to see it. Catch our narrow-band filter’s detailed view of the Sun live on the platform in front of the planetarium at 11 am on Fridays, weather permitting.

Saturdays Beginning May 4 – Dog Days of Summer

Bring your four legged friend for a relaxing stroll on the Wildlands Trail! All dogs must remain on a leash and be cleaned up after. Waivers must be signed and a $5 donation made before walking on the trail.

Saturdays & Sundays in May, 11:15 am – Kid’s Planetarium Show
We’ve added another planetarium show for April weekends! Saturdays and Sundays at 11:15 am, enjoy a selected full dome planetarium show suitable for children!

 Mexican Food Festival- OFFSITE @ Millennial Brewing Company: May 3, 5-8 PM

We’ll have an educational table at this early Cinco de Mayo fiesta with some of our animal friends!

Mother’s Day: May 12, 11 AM – 4 PM

All mothers receive FREE general admission entry on Mother’s Day! bring mom to show her how much she means to you!

May Flowers School’s Out Camp: May 27, 9 AM – 4 PM

Enjoy your days off outdoors smelling the flowers! $45 per day Non-members, $35 per day members. 9am-4pm Early drop off & late pick up available. Register online or call 239.275.3435 for any questions email sam@calusanature.org

Summer Camp Begins May 31, 9 AM – 4PM
